LME Community-based Residential Facility (CBRF) Training

Are you interested in starting your career working in a community-based residential facility or assisted living facility? You've come to the right place! Living Made Easy is approved through the CBRF Training and Registry Services to teach all of the state-required CBRF courses. Our CBRF training is available online or in-person at of our MLK Dr. Office in Milwaukee, but we also travel for onsite CBRF training for groups. LME offers affordable training that provides education and inspiration for students to provide safe and positive environments for residents in the Milwaukee community. Students will learn about persons with special needs, trained how to recognize and properly document challenging behaviors, and understand legal terminology. Students will learn how to administer and document medication, prevent medication errors, recognize adverse side effects, learn how to follow HIPPA Laws, OSHA safety standards and guidelines, handle difference incidents, as well as how to prevent or handle fire emergencies. The CBRF Training focuses Medication Administration, Standard Precautions, Fire Safety, First Aid and Choking.

Medical Administration

More than 40% of medication is administered incorrectly in long-care facilities and staff play an important role in reducing this number. This course will provide the information and skills necessary for students to administer medications correctly, understand resident rights, policies and procedures, labeling and storage, and much more.

Standard Precautions

This course will provide fundamental information on how not to spread infections and other diseases. Topics covered with include hand hygiene, personal protective equipment (gloves, gown, mask or eye protection), respiratory hygiene, cough etiquette, and safe injection practices.

First Aid and Choking

Students will learn the various roles and responsibilities that can arise in emergency situations. Topics covered will include emergency identification and response, basic prevention methods, and basic first aide measures until help arrives.

Fire Safety

It is of the utmost importance to keep residents safe during an emergency. This course will cover topics such as: use of an extinguishers, evacuation protocols, warning systems, fire hazards and ways to prevent fires.
